According to the revised Law on Immigration of Vietnam (Law No. 51/2019/QH14), effective from July 2020:
1. NG1 - To be granted to members of delegations invited by top Politburo members.
2. NG2 - To be granted to members of delegations invited by senior members of the Secretariat, the Government and the VFF.
3. NG3 - To be granted to members of diplomatic missions.
4. NG4 - To be granted to people who come to work with NG3.
5. LV1 - To be granted to people who come to work with State agencies.
6. LV2 - To be granted to people who come to work with social organizations and the VCCI.
7. LS - To be granted to foreign lawyers practicing in Vietnam.
8. ĐT1 - To be granted to foreign investors with a contributed capital of USD 4,333,333 or more.
9. ĐT2 - To be granted to foreign investors with a contributed capital of USD 2,166,666 or more.
10. ĐT3 - To be granted to foreign investors with a contributed capital of USD 130,000 or more.
11. ĐT4 - To be granted to foreign investors with a contributed capital of less than 130,000 USD.
12. DN1 - To be granted to people who come to work with Vietnam-based enterprises.
13. DN2 - To be granted to people who come to offer services.
14. NN1 - To be granted to heads of ROs or projects of international organizations and foreign NGOs in Vietnam.
15. NN2 - To be granted to heads of ROs or branches of foreign traders in Vietnam.
16. NN3 - To be granted to people who come to work with NN2.
17. DH - To be granted to people who come to practice as probationers or study in Vietnam.
18. HN - To be granted to people who come to attend conferences or workshops.
19. PV1 - To be granted to permanent correspondents and journalists in Vietnam.
20. PV2 - To be granted to correspondents and journalists who come to work for a short term in Vietnam.
21. LĐ1 - To be granted to people who come to work with a work permit exemption.
22. LĐ2 - To be granted to people who come to work with a work permit.
23. DL - To be granted to tourists.
24. TT - To be granted to foreigners who are parents, spouses, under-18 children of foreigners holding LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT1, ĐT2, ĐT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LĐ1 or LĐ2 visas, or foreigners who are parents, spouses or children of Vietnamese citizens.
25. VR - To be granted to people who come to visit their relatives or for other purposes.
26. SQ - To be granted to people in the cases prescribed in Clause 3, Article 17 of the Law.
27. EV - E-visa.
